Hi!

Do you know who I am?

I'm Ricky

I’m basically like if the weirdest kid at your school grew up to be super hot, talented and naturally charismatic.

Want to know more?

I’m very generous, I may even leave my social at the bottom.

THE ARTIST

For as long as I’ve known, I’ve been enamored with art.

No matter where I was, I would be sporting my sketchbook never missing a moment to create.

I was obsessive, driven to move to the next level.

Anxious not to waste a moment.

Art offered a meticulous level of control in an unstable world.

It offered freedom when I felt stuck.

And it was messy, raw, and forgiving.

As I got older I became more serious about my work, my skill, my attitude, and more lax and goofy with my subjects, and character

Then something crazy started to happen,

my creativity escaped the pages of my sketchbook,

Into my writing, my fashion, my thinking, my cooking

even my driving (but don’t tell the feds.)

Since college, the creative process has been my primary way of thinking. All problems solved through divergent ideation, and convergent solutions.

From my choice of words to my choice of shoes.

THE DREAMER

As a young girl I spent my days devouring literature.

I learned to read very young. And once I dove in, I swam within fantasy worlds.

Story telling has always been an integral part of my life.

Whether it’s a fantastical tale in a far away land.

Or a fantastical tale about how I didn’t hit my brother.

I’m always caught up in my own story.

My obsession has always been fervent,

I need to exist within the story, within the project,

Tapped into reality exclusively to hang out, pay a bill, or eat.

I can’t rest until I’m satisfied with my work.

THE CHASER

I spent a lot of my childhood alone- a star peg in a square hole world.

So my attention shifted, from people, to skills.

My need to prove my place has always been my drive.

My work thrived, I was finding success in my craft, enjoying life in my fantasy,

But working alone was much more difficult and lonely.

I spent so long chasing my next project, my next success, I was neglecting the essential personal components of creation.

At my ripe and wisened age of 22- I’ve shifted my priorities. Good work comes from joy and connection.

Whether it’s a group outing in the park,

Leaving the house to doodle something new,

or just catching a minute or two of fresh air.

I know the key to good work, is in shared joy.

THE LOVER

As a young child, other children couldn’t understand why I was so much cooler than them.

It was difficult.

I was like a bald weird alien who crashed into Conservative Idaho.

I found it hard to understand and assimilate to their strange customs.

I spent years camouflaging myself, shaving my jagged edges to fit into the to square holes.

Only to find out that people actually really mess with weird art people once you’re an adult.

Now, art is my point of connection, from drunken bar scribbles on a napkin to sticky note coworker collages at work. I’m always looking for a five minute friend, and I always have a 2 minute doodle to gift them.

A five minute friend I’m always going to hold dear is Mariam, a 6 yr old girl I sat next to on a 4hr train ride who spoke to me in doodles because we didn’t have a shared language.

Maybe I’m looking for earthlings to bring back to the mother ship… maybe I’m just full of love.

Who’s to say.

So, like, basically, pretty-much,

I’m a diligent worker, focused on creating consistently quality content in whichever medium I use.

But I love working with others, meeting new people, and bringing a variety of positive vibes to the project.

I’m solutions oriented, a team player, and leader, driven to direct any project to success, no matter where the wind blows.

I also love to chill, hang and create fun in and around my projects.

I draw good.

And I’m a Sagittarius

It’s a no brainer
